Kochi Haruno Athletic Stadium

The ground sits in Haruno, a district that was a town in its own right until it merged into Kochi City in 2006.

The shape it has today came from a rebuild finished in 1998, done with the National Sports Festival in mind. That work took the seating from 15,000 to 25,000, and nothing has moved since. The festival itself arrived in 2002; before that, in 1989, the ground took the National High School Sports Festival.

For long stretches it went without top-level football at all. When Cerezo Osaka U-23 met Gainare Tottori here on 11 November 2017, it was the first official J.League fixture at the venue in eight years. In between, the pitch has been lent out — Tokushima Vortis and Ehime FC have both staged guest home matches here — and in December 2007 it hosted the first Japan Rugby Top League match played anywhere in Kochi Prefecture.

Kochi United SC are the tenants now, in the J3 League.

The name changed on 1 January 2026, when Giken Co., Ltd. took the naming rights and the ground became GIKEN Stadium . That deal runs three years and three months, to March 2029.
