Kopavogsvollur

Kópavogur, Iceland

Formerly: Eikarvöllurinn

The stadium has lived through a long shift in how it is maintained. For decades it played host to natural grass, but the switch to artificial turf in 2019 changed the way the surface behaves under the boots. That change came after a major overhaul in 2008–2009, when the current western stand was built by the architecture firm Mansard Teiknistofa Ehf.

Breiðablik have called this ground home since it opened in 1975, making them the longest-serving tenants. The venue has also seen visitors from further afield, hosting UEFA Champions League qualifying matches and the 2019 Nordic Cup finals. The pitch itself carries a new name now, Eikarvöllurinn, following a sponsorship deal in the summer of 2026, though the wider complex remains Kópavogsvöllur. The ground is owned by the municipality, which manages the entire site rather than a private club.
