Körner Trainingszentrum powered by VARTA is not where Rapid Wien play — it is where the club is built. The ground stands on the site once known as Elektra-Platz, home to ASK Elektra Wien, and the old name still surfaces in Leopoldstadt more readily than the sponsor-laden new one.

What sets it apart from a standard training base is the sheer spread of pitches: six of natural grass and three artificial, enough for every age group at the club to train in parallel without treading on each other. The complex opened on 25 June 2023, two years after Rapid first announced the project, and replaced a patchwork of scattered training sites with one address in the 2nd district.

It is not built as a matchday venue in the usual sense — the listed capacity sits at a modest 2,000, a number that varies depending on who is counting, and there is no first-team fixture list tied to it. Its purpose is development: academy sides, reserve teams, and first-team sessions all run through the same nine fields on Josef-Fritsch-Weg, a short stretch from the Prater.
