Kristiansund Stadion

The record crowd here was set on the day the ground opened. On 17 September 1950, after four years of building work, 6,200 people came to watch Kristiansund FK lose 3-2 to Ørn-Horten. The stands today hold 4,444, so that figure is unlikely to be touched again.

Its names track who owned it. In the early years, when Kristiansund FK held the ground, locals simply called it KFK-banen — the KFK pitch. From 1950 it went by Gressbanen, "the grass pitch", and kept that name for sixty-four years. Kristiansund BK, formed in 2013 out of a merger, took over the running of it, and in 2014 it became Kristiansund Stadion. At the start of the 2023 season it was renamed Nordmøre Stadion, after SpareBank 1 Nordmøre bought the naming rights together with municipalities across the Nordmøre region and local firms — the point being to tie the ground to the whole district rather than the one town.

Two rebuilds, in 2014 and 2017, added seating, floodlights and media positions because the Eliteserien required them; the club went up in 2017. Even after that work it remains one of the smallest grounds in the Norwegian top flight. Kristiansund BK beat Rosenborg 3-2 here in 2019, a night known locally as The Comeback at the Cliff, and put four past Molde in 2022.

The ground sits in Karihola, on the Kirklandet peninsula, and belongs to Kristiansund Municipality.
