Laçi Stadium
Laç, Albania
The ground in Laç sits close to the municipal building, a fact that puts it in the centre of the town rather than on its edge. The structure that stands there now dates from 2010, when the original stand was replaced. This rebuild was not cosmetic; it was done to meet the requirements for European competition, turning the facility into an all-seater stadium.
The most notable event at the stadium was its inauguration match on August 30, 2010. KF Laçi defeated Shkumbini 2-0 in front of 1,500 spectators. That game marked the beginning of the stadium’s life, though the team had played their first European fixture earlier that year at a different venue because the renovation was not finished in time. The cost of the project was around €2.3 million, a sum that covered the new seats and the facilities needed for the Europa League. Minor updates to the turf followed in 2015, but the basic layout has remained the same.
On match days, the stadium hosts KF Laçi in the Kategoria Superiore and, when the certification is met, in European qualifiers. The capacity is 2,271, a figure that reflects the compact nature of the town and the modest size of the stand. There are no commercial names on the building, and the stands remain unadorned.
