Lancaster Municipal Stadium has worn three names since it opened, and the last one, The Hangar, points at what sits nearby: Edwards Air Force Base and the aerospace plants that give this stretch of the Antelope Valley its character. The venue went up in 1996 as a general-purpose civic ground, took the corporate tag Clear Channel Stadium for a stretch, and only settled into its current identity once AV Alta FC made it their home.

The shift that mattered came later, when the city and the club broke ground on turning a municipal field into a purpose-built soccer venue, one of a handful in Southern California built specifically for the game rather than adapted to it. That work pushed capacity from its original 4,500 to 5,300 and replaced the surface with artificial turf suited to a full football calendar rather than occasional use.

Set on Valley Central Way at the edge of Lancaster, the ground still carries the flat, wind-exposed openness typical of high desert grounds in this part of California, a setting that shaped its old nickname more than any marketing exercise did.
