The Lascăr Pană Sports Hall does not shout for attention. Its wooden floor is where most of the story lives. The hall sits on Bulevardul Unirii 14A.

It opened in 1975, though one source gives 1974; the official website settles on the later date. The capacity sits at 2,218 seats, a number that does not change much from one event to the next.

The hall was originally called 'Sala Sporturilor Dacia' before it took the name of Lascăr Pană, the handball coach who steered HC Minaur Baia Mare to two IHF Cup wins in the 1980s. Renovations in 2007 and later years have kept the place moving without stripping away its bones. The teams that call it home include CS Minaur Baia Mare, HC Minaur Baia Mare, and CS Știința Explorări Baia Mare, alongside volleyball sides and local sports schools.

Romanian national handball matches were held here during the 2015 World Championship, though no record of the crowd size survives. The site csnlascarpana.ro manages the booking, but the hall itself does little to advertise its history.
