Leangen Ishall
Trondheim, Norway
Formerly: Leangen kunstisbane
What makes it stand out is not the ice itself, but what sits beside it. Across the rink, under the same roof, lies Norway’s only indoor running track. The surface is artificial, stamped flat and hard, and the track runs along the far wall where the boards meet the concrete.
At the time, it was the eighth ice arena in the country.
The facility serves multiple purposes beyond hockey. Figure skating and curling take place here alongside the ice rink, and the running track allows indoor athletics during winter months. An upgrade to the roof was completed before the 2005/2006 season, and a separate youth hall was added in 2009.
The record crowd of 3,311 appeared for a match between Trondheim Ishockeyklubb and Storhamar in 1992. The arena does not belong to the club; it belongs to the city.
