Stadium
Ledovy Dvorets Sporta "Glazov Arena" named after S.N. Arkhangelsky
Glazov, Russia
Formerly: Progress Ice Palace
The ground stands at the end of Kirova Street. It opened in 1969 as the first ice palace in Udmurtia. For decades it carried the name Progress.
The thing that sets it apart is not the size, but the weight of time around it. The original capacity was 4,300. The work was funded by State Corporation Rosatom and the Udmurt Republic.
It was renamed Glazov Arena, and the honour of the name goes to Sergey Nikolaevich Arkhangelsky, the director of the plant who initiated the original construction.
