Lugovi

Lugovi does not have the postcard views some Montenegrin coastal grounds have, but it has geography working for it in another way: the ground sits just off the Jadranski put, the coastal road that runs the length of the country, a few kilometres from the Adriatic and a short run down from Podgorica. It is the sort of location that makes a small stadium easy to find and hard to expand.

The ground dates to 1960 and was rebuilt in the early 1990s, though the scale of that work is not well documented. What is documented, unevenly, is how many people can actually watch a match here — older listings put capacity at 1,500, split across two stands of 750 seats apiece, while more recent figures more than double that number. No single explanation for the gap survives; it reads as much like a change over time as a difference in counting method.

More consequential for the ground's future was a 2023 debate in Budva over selling the site, with demolition raised as a real possibility given the value of the land and debts tied to the club once based there. Whether that went ahead, and what it left of the stadium described here, is not settled.

Lugovi has kept its name since it was built, with no earlier identity to account for. It is now the home of FK Mogren, the Budva club whose own website is the closest thing the ground has to an official record.
