Lyngbyhallen
Kongens Lyngby, Denmark
The hall sits adjacent to Lyngby Stadion, the outdoor home of Lyngby Boldklub, but the two venues are distinct both in purpose and in the sport that defines them. Where the stadium was taken into use in 1949 and fitted with lights in 1964, Lyngbyhallen appears in the archive of Virum/Sorgenfri Håndboldklub as a facility that existed before the inauguration of Virumhallen in 1968. The architectural firm Claus Seidel designed both structures, though the indoor hall is built for a different kind of intensity.
It serves as the home venue for Lyngby HK, accommodating a capacity of 1,340. The space comprises 740 seats and roughly 600 standing places. The floor is described as a high-quality large floor covering, suitable for the demands of handball, though the hall also hosts ice hockey events, such as the Mason Cup, and dance sports competitions.
Confusion persists in some databases listing Lyngbyhallen as the home of Lyngby Boldklub, but the football club plays at the stadium on the other side of the wall. The capacity has not been subject to historical changes, and the venue has consistently been known as Lyngbyhallen.
The address is Lundtoftevej 53.
