MAC³PARK stadion

The ground took its name from the water before it took one from a sponsor. When it opened on the edge of Zwolle in 2009, it was the IJsseldelta Stadion, after the delta of the IJssel that spreads out west of the city. Since July 2016 it has carried the MAC³PARK badge instead.

It is not a new site so much as a rebuilt one. PEC Zwolle played at the Oosterenkstadion, and the new ground went up on that plot and the land around it, from the first work in March 2007 to the opening two and a half years later. The design came from Widdershoven architect, based in Kerkrade.

The original plan ran to roughly ten thousand seats; promotion to the Eredivisie pushed the club to squeeze in another two and a half thousand between the pitch and the existing tiers, and later work on the north stand brought the figure to 14,000.

In the summer of 2020 the club changed course, and the grass was down in time for the 2020/21 season.

On 19 March 2015 a fire broke out in the Chinese restaurant housed inside the building, the Wok Stadion Zwolle. Smoke forced an evacuation of the stadium; nobody was hurt.
