Městský stadion u Ploučnice

Two dates matter more than one here, and only one of them is the birth of the ground. The stadium opened on 16 August 1959, built largely through Akce Z, the volunteer labour drives that put up so many Czechoslovak sports facilities of the era. Ten weeks later, on 29 October 1959, the newly finished bowl hosted a friendly against the Czechoslovak national side — TJ Lokomotiva Česká Lípa lost 1–7.

In 1960 a regional spartakiad brought some 4,500 participants through the stadium, and by 1965 the figure had climbed past 5,200.

Football arrived properly later, and it peaked in the 1985/86 season, when the home side finished fourth in the Czechoslovak second tier. League Sundays drew around 2,500 through the gates, but cup ties against stronger opposition were another matter — attendance is said to have run as high as 7,000 for those nights, well above anything the ground normally carried.

The current tenant is FK Arsenal Česká Lípa, with FK Česká Lípa having played here previously. No cup finals and no Czech national team fixtures have ever come to the stadium.
