The structure on Avinguda Arístides Maillol was never merely a football ground. The stadium closed in 2019 and was demolished the following year as part of the Espai Barça project to make way for the new Nou Palau Blaugrana.

The two-tier stand surrounded the pitch on all sides, with only the western stand roofed. It was designed by Josep Casals and built by the company FOCSA, opening on September 23, 1982. The capacity remained fixed at 15,276.

The ground was not known for the matches played there, though it hosted games for the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe and the Andorra national team. It was known for the crowds that came to see the bands. Bob Dylan played here on June 28, 1984; David Bowie returned in July 1987; and on August 1, 1986, the stadium held 34,000 people to watch Queen, a figure that far exceeded the official number of seats.

The playing surface was natural grass, but the memory of the place is tied to the concerts. It is gone now, leaving only the street names: C. Aristides Maillol, Av. Dr. Marañón, and the direction to Parc Cientific.
