Motonet Arena

The arena opened in early 2022 to replace older facilities in the same sports park, standing alongside the older Joensuu Arena.

The building has three floors and accessible facilities, a practical design choice for a modern venue. The arena serves as the home for Kataja Basket, a basketball team, and is also used for indoor ball sports, training, and competitions. A key aspect of the interior is the divisible court area with wooden parquet flooring, which expands significantly when the stands are closed.

The seating capacity is approximately 2,500 spectators, though figures vary slightly between sources. The arena features 6 luxury boxes and LED screens, designed for professional sound and visual presentation. It is equipped for sports education at the University of Eastern Finland as well as for hosting events.

The facility is accessible via the official address at Kisapolku 1. The arena is part of the city's infrastructure for event organisers, offering a dedicated space for various activities.
