Mugla Ataturk Stadyumu
Muğla, Turkey
Formerly: Muğla Stadyumu, Muğla Şehir Stadyumu
The concrete stands, which once defined the horizon for local supporters, have been torn down. Demolition began in 2024, removing the old structure because it no longer met safety standards. The project is set to conclude with the reopening of the venue for the 2025-2026 season.
It has hosted teams from across the coast, including Fethiyespor and Bodrum FK, who came here when their own facilities fell short of the requirements. The tartan athletics track that now runs around the natural grass pitch is a reminder of the ground's secondary purpose.
After a final match in May 2007, the doors closed and did not open again. Now the steel beams are going up and the locker rooms are being fitted, but the old rhythm has not quite returned. The first night match is scheduled for September 2026, a date far enough away that the current construction noise will be a memory.
Muğla Atatürk Stadyumu has always been a place where the game was played in the open air. The history between the teams is minimal, but the location is unique.
