Municipal de Amarante

Amarante, Portugal

The ground sits in Gatão, and it is the only football stadium in the town of Amarante. It opened in 1981 , replacing a smaller venue called Campo da Barroca. The site was designed by the architectural firm Vasco da Cunha Arquitectos.

There are no corporate names attached to the building. It is known simply as the Estádio Municipal de Amarante, though some locals refer to it as the Estádio Municipal José Martins Vieira. The capacity is widely cited as 5,000, though the Liga Portugal licensed capacity for professional fixtures is listed at 2,500. The address is Alameda de Teixeira de Pascoaes. It is owned by the Amarante Municipality.

In the 2024–25 season, Amarante FC played Sporting CP in the Taça de Portugal, losing 6–0. There are no records of international matches or concerts held here; it is a venue for local sport.
