Namdong Asiad Rugby Field

Incheon, South Korea

Namdong Asiad Rugby Field opened on 27 September 2013 for rugby sevens at the Incheon Asian Games the following year.

The ground sits in Namdong-gu, on Sorae-ro, and the natural turf pitch has been maintained since it went up. This one has kept its original purpose and its original name.

There is no club in residence and no fixture list running past the Games it was built for. Ownership sits with Incheon city council, and day-to-day management falls to the Incheon Metropolitan Sports Association, which lists the ground on its own site rather than through any stadium-specific page. That absence of a dedicated web presence, more than a decade after the Asian Games closed, says something about how the venue has settled into use: as a sports-association facility rather than a landmark.
