National Stadium, Ta' Qali
Attard (Ta' Qali area), Malta
The ground sits on what used to be an RAF airfield at Та'Квали. The stadium went up with Libyan financial help, under the minister Лорри Санта; the firm of local architects who drew it has never been named in the open record. It opened on 14 December 1980, and the football followed a year behind.
Мальта does not have grounds large enough for its leading clubs, so Слима Уондерерс , Биркиркара and Валлетта all come here for league fixtures, and the Кубок Мальты final is played here as well. The national team moved in permanently in 1982 and has not left.
The record crowd belongs to a night in December 1984, when 35 102 came to see Мальта take on Западная Германия in a qualifier for the 1986 чемпионат мира.
It also takes on work that has nothing to do with football: the final of the 2014 юношеский чемпионат Европы among under-17s, the opening ceremony of the X Игры малых государств Европы, and concerts — Антонелло Вендитти in September 2013, Мейбл in August 2025.
