New Balance Arena
Almost a century separates the ground that opened in Bergamo on 23 December 1928 from the arena that now carries the New Balance name. The stadium has worn four names before this one — Stadio Mario Brumana , remembering a local soldier killed in the Ethiopian war, then Stadio Comunale , then Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia , honouring Italian sportsmen who died in war, and Gewiss Stadium from 2019 until the switch to New Balance Arena in September 2025.
Its record crowd dates back further than any of that: 43,426 came for the derby with Inter on 16 September 1984, a 1-1 draw. More recent internationals have filled it out again, including a 5-0 win over Estonia last September and a 2-0 win over Northern Ireland in front of a sellout crowd this March. In April 2026 it hosted the Coppa Italia semi-final ties between Atalanta and Lazio, and the pitch itself has moved with the times too, laid now with FlexGrass Vertex hybrid turf.
