The ground's name on Scotland's football map was made on 22 January 2022, when Kelty Hearts, then a fourth-tier side, beat holders St Johnstone 1-0 after extra time in the Scottish Cup, and the home side saw it out once the tie went past ninety minutes.
The ground had opened under its original name in 1979, with further upgrades following in 2016 and 2018.
Nothing has come close to the crowd of 7 October 2012, when 2,300 people packed in for Stefan Wiśniewski's testimonial against a Rangers XI. Kelty Hearts' first match in the SPFL proper came on 31 July 2021, a 2-0 win over Cowdenbeath. Beyond the men's first team, the ground is also used by the club's women's side and by Dunfermline Athletic's reserves.
