New Stadium in Sartychal

The Central Stadium in Sartichala is not a rebuild of an old ground — it is barely a memory of one. What stood on the site before the works started in 2021 was replaced rather than renovated, and the club that plays there, SFC Shturmi, effectively started again on new turf when the gates opened in January 2024. The project ran on a joint budget from the Gardabani municipality and the Georgian Football Federation, put at three million lari, which for a stadium seating 530 is a serious sum for a ground its size in Georgia's lower tiers.

There is nothing to unpick in the name. It carries no former title, no sponsor rebrand, no wartime or Soviet-era label to explain — just the Central Stadium, plainly, in a village where it is the only ground of note. The pitch is natural grass, laid fresh with the rest of the reconstruction, which for a 530-capacity venue puts it a level above what most clubs at this size maintain.

What stands out is the scale of ambition against the scale of the place. Sartichala is a village, not a town, and its stadium was rebuilt with federation money as though a bigger club might one day need it. For now it is SFC Shturmi's ground alone, modest in capacity, new in every fixture, and free of the layered history that older Georgian grounds carry.
