Nou Estadi Costa Daurada

The naming of this ground did for its own president. José Luis Calderón put his own name on it — Estadio José Luis Calderón — without taking the decision to a shareholders' meeting first. The ground was left with the deliberately neutral name it carried for decades afterwards, Nou Estadi.

It opened in February 1972 with a friendly against Barcelona, and the first competitive match followed on the 13th, a 3-1 win over Onteniente. Capacity started at 18,000.

The bigger rebuild came ahead of the 2017 Mediterranean Games, when the seating was replaced throughout in a single garnet colour, the changing rooms were redone and an anti-doping area was added — work that left the stadium at its current capacity of 14,591. In 2022 the tourist board of the province put its name on the ground under a sponsorship deal, and it has been known as Nou Estadi Costa Daurada since.

Gimnàstic have had their moments here worth keeping: a Catalonia Cup final win over Barcelona, 2-1, in 2007 among them.
