Stadium
Offermann Stadium
Buffalo, United States
Formerly: Olympic Park, Buffalo Baseball Park, Bison Stadium
The name changed after the owner died. Frank J. Offermann ran the team until his death in 1935, and the ground took his name the following year. Before that, it was the Olympic Park , and before that, the Buffalo Baseball Park . The wooden stands designed by Louise Blanchard Bethune were kept in the new build, a piece of the old park carried into the concrete structure.
The site is occupied by the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts , which grew out of the Woodlawn Junior High School that opened on the spot in 1964.
