Olimpico Pascual Guerrero

The ground remains part of the Complejo Deportivo San Fernando, a name adopted after renovations for the National Games in nineteen-fifty-four. Before that, it was the Estadio Departamental. The architect Jorge Gaitán Cortés designed the original structure, but the engineer Guillermo González Zuleta reshaped it for the Pan American Games in nineteen-seventy-one. That expansion added the western stand and raised the capacity to over sixty thousand. The stadium was later renamed in honour of the poet Pascual Guerrero, who donated the land. It has hosted the Copa América, the FIFA U-20 World Cup, and the athletics championships for the Pan American Games. The attendance record belongs to the nineteen-eighty-two Clásico Vallecaucano, when a stampede killed twenty-four people. The figure of 35,405 seats reflects the reduction caused by individual seating installed for the 2011 tournament. The surface is natural grass, though a hybrid pitch was laid for the 2024 U-20 Women's World Cup. The concrete walls have sustained damage from the earthquake in August twenty-twenty-six.
