Pagritio
Heraklion, Greece
Formerly: OFI Stadium, Yedi Kule
The stadium at Kantanou 60 carries a nickname that speaks of stone and height: Yedi Kule , or the Seven Towers. For decades it served as the anchor for OFI Crete. The ground retained its character through renovations, though the 2004 overhaul marked a distinct shift, converting the terraces to seats and reinforcing the structure against time.
It is a small arena compared to the Olympic venue completed in the same year, yet it holds a different weight. The capacity sits at 9,088 seats.
OFI Crete played here until 2025. Structural concerns eventually forced the club to move to the Pankritio Stadium. The older ground remains empty in its current role, a silent witness to the matches it once hosted.
The facade remains the most distinctive feature, earning the fortress comparison that persists in local conversation. It does not have the LED scoreboard of its neighbour, nor did it host the Olympic football tournament.
