Park Hall
The artificial surface, laid when the Shropshire County Council ground first opened in 1993, made it the only fixture of its kind for miles.
That size was always the limiting factor — UEFA's rules on minimum capacity kept nudging up against what Park Hall could actually offer.
The answer came in 2023, when a rebuild costing £3 million took the ground to 3,000 seats, all of them covered, aimed squarely at UEFA Category 2 status rather than at matchday atmosphere for its own sake. The Ligaturf surface itself, FIFA two-star approved, has stayed in place since that earlier 2005–07 refit, so the pitch that opposing sides have always found unfamiliar remains the one constant through both rounds of building work.
Off to the side of the stands, a separate building called The Venue houses a bowling club and a fitness centre — nothing to do with the stadium's own name, which has not changed since Shropshire County Council first opened the gates in 1993.
