When Union Gurten's name is pulled from the ÖFB-Cup draw alongside a Bundesliga club, matches against sides such as Rapid Vienna or Salzburg have been moved to a neutral ground in Ried im Innkreis, because Park21 Arena falls short of the Austrian federation's requirements for fixtures at that level. The 2019/20 season alone brought wins over FC Zell am See and SV Horn, a defeat to SC Austria Lustenau watched by 850 people, and, in 2021, a tie against FC Lustenau 1907.

It sits in the Starhemberg municipality, Upper Austria.

The pitch is natural grass, kept for a Regionalliga side rather than a top-flight one. FC Heidenheim to Gurten for a night. It has never hosted a cup final, a national team match, or a major concert.
