Pendik Stadium
Istanbul, Turkey
Formerly: Siltaş Yapı Pendik Stadyumu
The Pendik Stadium is a place that has changed shape to fit the needs of the team that calls it home.
There is a sense of adaptation here. The original structure from 1993 was small, but recent work has expanded it. A portable stand has been added to increase the number of seats, bringing the capacity to just over four thousand. A large sign on the wall marks it as the property of the Pendik municipality, a reminder of the local identity that remains after the sponsorship names changed over the years.
The ground is not a cathedral of football; it is a working venue in a district that is still growing. The pitch itself is a hybrid surface, maintained to professional standards despite the modest surroundings. It is a stadium that has been upgraded for the top flight, yet it retains the character of a local club. It is a place where the past and the present of Turkish football overlap, without fanfare.
