Petros Atoyan Stadium

Uralsk keeps the oldest ground still in use in Kazakhstan. It opened on 29 May 1927 with a match between a city select and a cavalry regiment, back when the site served as the stadium of the city park of culture and recreation.

The current name dates to 1996, when the ground was renamed for Petros Atoyan, honorary citizen of Uralsk. A reconstruction in November 2003 brought modern running tracks and rebuilt stands, though the wider plan to bring the venue up to international standard was only partly carried through.

It has hosted more than football. In 1998 it staged the world bandy championship for junior players, and it remains a regular venue for the Kazakhstan Cup as well as training sessions and matches for the country's national and youth sides.

Natural turf, no undersoil heating, a capacity of 8,320 — modest by the standards of Kazakhstan's newer arenas. FC Akzhayik (also known as Zhayik) plays its home matches here.
