Petrovsky

Petrovsky opened on 26 July 1925. The ground was wrecked during the Second World War and rebuilt between 1957 and 1961; in the mid-1990s, before the Goodwill Games, plastic seating and an under-pitch heating system were installed. Through most of that period it carried a different name, V. I. Lenin Stadium , until 1992.

Zenit made the ground their home for over two decades, from 1994 to 2017, before moving on, and Tosno used it for a single season afterwards. The record crowd came late in that Zenit tenancy: 53,099 for a derby against Spartak on 6 August 2017. The pitch itself is a natural lawn built on a fibre-sand base, with synthetic fibres worked into the peat-and-sand mix before the grass is sown.

In 1996 it hosted the Russian championship's title decider, the so-called Golden Match between Alania and Spartak, settled on penalties after a 1-1 draw. It has also held a Russian Super Cup final, matches for the national team, including qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup, and, away from football, a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in 2012.
