Pikara Stadium

The roof is its most striking element, a wave of curved steel segments that stretches across one side of the stands, casting long shadows over the seats below.

Inside, the atmosphere shifts when the crowd arrives. The stands are filled with light blue flags and banners, some bearing Japanese characters, others English words like "Sanuki" and "All for Sanuki." The supporters cluster in the covered sections, shielding themselves from the sun under the curved roof. The advertising boards along the perimeter are a mix of local businesses and sponsors, a reminder of the community that owns the ground.

The pitch is cut cleanly into the oval, the green grass contrasting sharply with the red track. It is natural grass, maintained for both football and athletics, and the lines are crisp. The goalposts stand at either end, simple and functional. The large video board on the far side is currently blank, waiting for the next match to fill it with motion.

This is not a cathedral of football, but a practical space for sport. It has hosted significant matches, including playoffs between J3 and JFL sides, but its primary role is as a home for Kamatamare Sanuki. The stadium is owned by the prefecture and operated by a local group, its identity rooted in the region rather than national fame. The track remains a constant presence, a reminder of its original purpose as a multi-use arena for the National Sports Festival.
