The arena in Irun sits on Karrika Nagusia. The building itself does not announce its purpose from the outside; it occupies a corner of the city centre.

Inside, the noise rises differently here than in the open-air grounds. It is a contained sound, bouncing off the walls of the **Polideportivo Artaleku**. It serves as the home for CD Bidasoa, a handball side that has played on this historic court for decades. The capacity sits somewhere between 2,200 and 2,686 depending on the source, a discrepancy that does not matter much when the room is full. The most recent memory of a full house was the 2025 Copa del Rey de Balonmano Final Phase, hosted by the local club in June. The players moved quickly across the surface.

Before the handball crowd took over the space, the stands held only 1,500 people. The 2012–13 Copa del Rey de Futsal Final also took place here, with Barcelona Alusport defeating ElPozo Murcia 6–3.

The building has seen little in the way of architectural drama. There is no grand facade or modern extension. It is a functional space, worn smooth by years of play.
