Športni park Domžale

This one grew out of a factory. It was laid out in 1948 for the Pollak tannery, and the drawings came from Stanko Bloudek. The site has carried the same name ever since.

What the ground is today dates from the years around 2003 and 2004, after smaller rounds of work in 1997 and 1999. The covered stand of 2,192 seats was built in partnership with the retailer Mercator , whose contribution was valued at 140 million old tolars — roughly €580,000 at the rates of the day. The stand belongs to the municipality of Domžale, not the club, and opened formally in the 2004/05 season. Floodlights followed in 2006, and with them evening fixtures.

That sequence explains the visitors. The first international came on 17 August 1999, Slovenia's under-21s beating Albania 3:1; Romania held them goalless here in 2001 and Israel won 2:1 in 2003. On 7 February 2007 the senior side played its first friendly under Matjaž Kek at Domžale and beat Estonia 1:0. In 2012 the ground took group matches at the UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

Beyond the main grass pitch, the training area keeps artificial surfaces in reserve.
