Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium
Abha, Saudi Arabia
The ground sits in the Abha quarter known as Al-Mahalah. It opened in 1984. The Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium has not seen a major structural rebuild for a global tournament.
The pitch is natural grass, and the capacity is listed as 20,000 in most places, though some sources cite 25,000. No specific attendance record is available, with the highest recorded figure in search results belonging to a different venue. The stadium has hosted the International Friendship Tournament and the Elite International Friendly Tournament, with participants including Al-Hilal, Al-Shabab, and Italian club Bologna; Al-Shabab won the tournament in 2010. Damac FC used the ground as their home for Saudi Professional League matches from their promotion in 2019 until at least the 2023/2024 season, despite having a dedicated stadium in Khamis Mushait which they also utilized.
A maintenance project was completed in 2022 by ProFast Limited for the Ministry of Sports, but details on scope and cost are unavailable. The venue is owned by the General Presidency of Youth Welfare, now the Ministry of Sport. It has also hosted cultural events and dignitaries, including Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
