Qingdao Tiantai Stadium

Qingdao Tiantai Stadium sat in the shadow of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum long before it hosted a match. The city built it as a public work, and the structure has survived the decades as the home of the local side, now called Qingdao Jonoon.

There is a difference in how the ground feels now compared to the old postcards. A major renovation between 2000 and 2003 gave the venue its current identity. The local Tiantai Group bought the naming rights. The surface is a hybrid mix.

The capacity sits at 20,525. That is a specific number that has been cited in league records. It was not needed for the sailing events in 2008, which went to the International Sailing Centre, but the stadium has hosted rugby sevens and athletics to fill the calendar off-season.
