Red Bull Arena
Earlier this month, on 12 August 2026, Red Bull Arena hosted the first UEFA Super Cup played on Austrian soil.
The ground is home to FC Red Bull Salzburg, though for much of its life it answered to more than one name depending on the occasion.
Its current shape owes almost everything to Euro 2008. For the tournament itself, natural turf was laid over the artificial pitch underneath it.
The ground's record crowd, 31,063, also dates from that summer — Greece against Sweden in the Euro 2008 group stage, 10 June 2008. A quieter footnote belongs to 2011, when Shakhtar Donetsk won a friendly four-team tournament here ahead of Austria Vienna, Rapid Bucharest and Maccabi Haifa. The pitch was relaid most recently in June 2025, after the drainage beneath it was replaced.
