Republican Stadium 'Spartak'
Liverpool once played here, in front of the ground's record crowd of 43,000 when Spartak-Alania fell 1-2 to the English side in the UEFA Cup.
The stadium's own name has outlasted the city's. Vladikavkaz spent long stretches known as Ordzhonikidze, yet the ground stayed Spartak throughout, home first to a club of that name and later to Alania.
New seating, floodlights and a scoreboard installed in 2006, at the Russian Premier League's insistence, cost the ground several hundred places rather than adding them.
By August 2026 the ground was back in full training, hosting a Media League Cup tie between Amkal and Lit Energy on the refreshed pitch.
