The pitch belongs to a school. Rīgas Hanzas vidusskola, in Riga's Skanste district, opened in 1995, and its football ground followed sometime in the early 2000s — no source pins down the exact year. What sets the venue apart is what it does now: beyond physical education classes, it serves as the home ground of FS Metta, a club that has played in the Virslīga, Latvia's top flight.

Two smaller sides share the same turf. Skanstes SK, in the 1. līga, and JDFS Alberts both list the address on Grostonas iela as home. The surface throughout is artificial.

Capacity, by Transfermarkt's count, runs to 500 — 180 seated, 320 standing. Larger figures of 1,000 to 2,000 turn up elsewhere, but those trace back to a 2013 plan for new stands put forward by the Metta football school, a project that never fully left the drawing board.

The ground is due for work regardless. Through 2025 and into 2026, the city is upgrading its lighting and playing surface, with 149,439 euros from the state budget and 49,937 euros from the Riga City Council covering the cost.
