The ground does not stand on the original site of the Rockdale Ilinden club. That older venue at Arncliffe was demolished in 2025. The most striking feature is not the age of the structure, but the surface itself. It is a synthetic pitch of FIFA standard, laid down in February 2018 to replace the natural grass that had served the area for decades.

Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre sits within Bicentennial Park South, a space that had existed since 1988 but remained largely an open field until the redevelopment completed in December 2009. The project was managed by Boyd Properties and funded by the Bayside Council, who retained ownership after the naming rights were granted to the local club. The capacity is generally cited as 5,000, though figures in some databases wander between 4,000 and 6,000 without clear resolution. What matters is the daily reality: the pitch requires no undersoil heating.

The highest attendance recorded here is 4,489, set during an FFA Cup match against Sydney FC in August 2018. That evening, the home side won 4–2. Beyond football, the ground hosts the Maso Cup tournaments and has welcomed Macedonian artists like Tose Proeski for concerts on the same surface used by Rockdale City Suns and Sydney II. The tenants change, but the ground remains a fixture of the southern suburbs.
