Rogers Family Stadium
In the 1970s Harrow Borough parted with a second pitch to the local council — the land became Earlsmead Primary School — and put the proceeds into a new clubhouse and concrete terracing.
Before that, the ground's one substantial structure came from a gift. The Champniss Stand went up in 1938 around a pavilion donated by a local landowner, Mr G. Champniss, and stood for fifty-seven years. Safety regulations ended it: in 1995 it was pulled down and replaced by a stand seating 350, paid for through private donations, club fundraising and the Football Foundation. What the work cost was never recorded.
The club arrived here as a young side — founded in 1933 as Roxonian F.C., moving in within a year of forming, to facilities that held perhaps a thousand. The high-water mark came in 1946, when 3,000 crowded in for an FA Cup tie against Wealdstone, a fixture between neighbours.
The name is recent. In 2017 the ground stopped being Earlsmead Stadium and became Rogers Family Stadium , for Peter Rogers, by then fifty years a chairman, and for his late parents Jim and Meg.
