Roman Shukhevych Ternopil city stadium

The ground has lived through empires. It opened in 1909 when the Austro-Hungarian Empire still ruled the region, originally called Kolo Parku. The name changed with the regime: Avanhard after the Soviet reconstruction of 1984, then the Ternopil City Stadium, and finally the current name following a council decision in 2021. The stadium has hosted the Ukrainian Cup Final and an international match against Belarus, but its history is tied more closely to the local club FC Nyva, which played its first match here in 1984 before a crowd of roughly 15,000.

The playing surface is natural grass, maintained to a green that looks remarkably even despite the age of the facility. It is managed by a municipal enterprise and has no independent website. What remains is the physical structure: a place where the boundary between sport and track is still visible, and where the steel framework has held since the early twentieth century.
