Royals Park Stadium
Hoima, Uganda
Royals Park Stadium is located in the Butema area. It is the dedicated home for Kitara Football Club, the team that calls itself 'The Royals'. The venue sits approximately 16 km from Hoima city centre. It replaced Masindi Stadium as the club’s base, a move that coincided with the arena’s official opening on September 19, 2024.
The ground does not share the ambition of the nearby Hoima City Stadium, which is being built for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. This arena is smaller, focused entirely on local football. The surface is natural grass, but the defining feature is the irrigation system. A network of pipes runs underneath the pitch, keeping the turf consistent despite the heat. There is no formal website for the stadium itself; the club operates through its own domain, kitarafc.co.ug.
It is a new place. The club lost its opening match against NEC FC.
