Salle du Cossy

Nyon, Switzerland

On the map

Salle du Cossy sits on Chemin de Précossy, tucked into a complex that was completed in 2014. The architect Itten Brechbühl SA from Lausanne designed the three separate buildings — elementary school, sports hall, and swimming pool — keeping them distinct yet connected.

The playing surface is artificial, specifically the POLYmatch system, laid down to withstand the heavy use of two local clubs: BBC Nyon and HBC Nyon. The capacity is modest, with 250 fixed seats and room for retractable bleachers to reach 700.

It has hosted Swiss national championships for twirling and tchoukball. The pool building was realized between 2015 and 2017, while the complex itself saw rehabilitation work for the Sentier du Cossy pathway project between 2017 and 2021.

There are no former names or attendance records to claim. It is a place defined by its local utility, open to the community and the teams that call Nyon home.
