Saqr Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi Stadium

Khor Fakkan, United Arab Emirates

Formerly: Al-Baladi Stadium

The Saqr Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi Stadium in Khor Fakkan sits quietly in the Al Mudaifi district, a place that serves its community long before it serves the league. For decades it operated under a simpler name, the Al-Baladi Stadium, a title that evoked the municipal roots of the ground rather than the sporting ambitions of the men who played there. The identity of the venue shifted, as it often does when a local team climbs the ladder, moving from a community facility into the arena of professional competition.

The turning point for the ground came in early 2020. The arrival of Khor Fakkan Club in the UAE Pro League required a transformation that went beyond simple repairs. The structure underwent a major reconstruction project, funded as a charitable endowment by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah. The work was executed with the support of the Sharjah Public Works Department, turning an aging 1981 structure into a modern venue capable of hosting top-flight matches. The playing surface, once natural grass, was replaced with artificial turf to meet the rigour of the new standards.

The capacity of the ground hovers around 6,000. The stadium is wheelchair accessible, ensuring that the community is included in the spectacle.

Matches held here carry a weight of local pride. The stadium has hosted UAE President's Cup knockout stages and Arabian Gulf Cup quarter-finals. The renaming of the ground to honour Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, the club's former president who passed away in 2007, remains a subject of quiet debate, with some sources suggesting the official change was formalized alongside the 2020 reopening.
