Savivaldybe Stadium
Šiauliai, Lithuania
Formerly: Šiaulių „Žalgirio“ stadionas
The Savivaldybė Stadium sits in Šiauliai at S. Daukanto g. 23, a place where the game is played on natural grass.
The ground has a layered history. It opened in 1962 after construction began in 1948 on the site of an earlier venue built in 1940 and destroyed during the war. The "Žalgiris" sports society funded the original stands in 1953 and retained ownership throughout the Soviet era. The stadium was reconstructed in 1986 and underwent further renovations in 2018 costing €52,000 in preparation for the 2018 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship.
Capacity figures vary between sources, ranging from 2,430 to 4,000. The stadium hosts FA Šiauliai and FC Gintra, as well as matches for the Lithuania women's national football team and the rugby union team. It served as the venue for the Lithuanian Football Cup (LFF Taurė) finals in 2014, when Žalgiris Vilnius played Šiauliai, and again in 2015 against Sūduva.
The official website, siauliufa.lt, lists the club details.
