Savivaldybės stadionas

The Savivaldybės stadionas in Šiauliai does not hide its dual purpose. A red synthetic running track encircles the natural grass pitch, marking this as a facility built for athletics first, where football shares the space. The stands are arranged in tiers that are partially sheltered by a metal canopy supported by a simple steel frame. The ground is located in the Užkirkis district.

Conditions on the pitch The surface is natural grass, maintained through the Lithuanian seasons. Winter brings its own challenges. The track separates the pitch from the nearest row of seats, ensuring that athletes and footballers do not interfere with each other during training. History in the structure The building dates back to 1962, when the original structure completed by the Žalgiris Sports Society was finally opened. It replaced an earlier stadium destroyed during the Second World War. The current form was largely determined by a renovation completed in 2018, which added the covered sections needed to meet UEFA requirements for the Women's Under-17 Championship. Before that work, the venue had hosted a significant moment in Lithuanian football with the 2015 LFF Cup Final, where Žalgiris Vilnius defeated Atlantas Klaipėda.
