SGUS Stadium (SGUS Arena)

Formerly: Stadium of the Institute of Physical Culture, SGAFKST Stadium

The stadium sits inside the grounds of Smolensk State University of Sport, and its name has changed with the institution's: opened as the ground of the Institute of Physical Culture, it became the SGAFKST Stadium when the institute was upgraded to an academy in 2005, and took its current SGUS name after the academy gained university status in 2021. The pitch itself belongs to a lineage of physical education training in the city that runs back to a technical college founded in 1929, though the ground's own opening date is not recorded.

In August 2025 the artificial pitch was relaid, and the new turf is reported to carry undersoil heating.

Capacity is 2,000, and the ground has filled to that mark twice on record: for a 0-1 defeat to Shinnik on 24 August 2016 and for a 0-3 loss to Spartak-2 Moscow on 28 August 2014. It has since become home to Iskra Smolensk , who play their Second League fixtures there, and it doubles as a venue for the National University Football League, hosting a group-stage round in June 2026 for teams from SGUS, RGUFKSMiT, KGTU and SevGU.

The university's own club, FC University of Sport , reached the final of the Centre Zone Cup in 2026 after eliminating Metallurg-Oskol on aggregate. The ground also featured in the 2019/20 Russian Cup, staging matches in the first qualifying round.
