Shaheed Barkat Stadium
Gazipur, Bangladesh
The name is the story here. Shaheed Barkat — "martyr Barkat" — honours Abdul Barkat, a poet who was killed in the 1952 movement to defend Bengali as a state language.
Nothing in its record suggests it carried a different name before Barkat's, which means the tribute has been attached to it from the start.
