Shahid Dastgerdi Stadium

Before that dedication, the ground answered to the club that used it and the district that housed it — PAS Tehran Stadium, then Ekbatan Stadium, names that trace the site back to the PAS Qavamyn side and the Ekbatan township around it.

Set in Shahrak-e Ekbatan, at the crossing of Telecommunications Street and Varzesh Street, the stadium sits within a wider sports complex built for more than one purpose: a running track, a pool, sauna and jacuzzi facilities, and lodgings for athletes surround the pitch itself. Just nearby stands Rah Ahan Stadium, and the two grounds have on occasion worked in tandem — both were pressed into service for the 2012 AFC U-16 Championship.

Whether the surface underfoot is grass or an artificial pitch is not something local sources agree on; a coach quoted discussing the field's poor state referred to a mix of grass species, which points to turf rather than carpet, but no clean resolution of the question exists in the record.

None of this makes Shahid Dastgerdi the city's stage. That role belongs to Azadi.
